I have a computer running a Win 10 host with a Win 10 guest using a brand new installation of Workstation Pro 15.5.2 build-15785246. The guest OS has been added to my company's domain. My IT administrator made me an admin on the VM so that I could (in theory) install software.
When I try to install something, it asks me for my username and password. When I enter them, the VM always tells me that "The requested operation requires elevation" in spite of the fact that my IT administrator has granted me the appropriate permissions. But here's the really strange part: Sometimes when I click "No", the VM goes ahead and continues the installation anyway. But only sometimes. I was able to install Firefox in this way... but not FRAPS.
I've tried restarting the host and guest systems, but that didn't change things. I also tried changing the "Network Adapter" from NAT to Bridged (both with and without "Replicate physical connection state"), but that didn't have an effect either. Other guest OS's that I've created with local admin priveleges don't have this problem.
I'm pretty good with computers normally, but I'm new to VMWare. Let me know if you need any other information. I tried to find other posts with the same problem, but couldn't find anything that looked similar.
