VMRun command line length

VMWare ESXi 4.10,  Windows Server 2008 R2 server and XP based client VM's.

I'm administering an application that programatically build's command lines and 'shells' them out to the server and client VM OS.  Typical commands run between 200 and 300 characters.  On occasion the commands are truncated and fail... I've seen failures in the 240 character range.   which beg's the following questions.

What is the default maximum length of a command line in this environment ?

Is there a way to increse that default maximum length ?
