VM console tries to launch using port no 9443 instead of 7331 and timesout

My ESXi host is running 5.5 upd 1.As per the below KB article I am expecting that my VM console would open with port 7331.Instead it tries with 9443 and I receive a connection timeout error.

This was working fine the other day and I remember that it used to connect to 7331 when it used to work.Not sure what went wrong suddenly.The vCenter and the Hosts are accessed remotely via a VPN and I use Socks Proxy to connect to it.I tried from Chrome and Filezilla. Any idea what could be wrong here?
