I am running a vCenter vSphere 5.5 with sever 5.0 and 5.5 hosts. Each host has several virtual machines. I have been able to defrag the guest OS's within each virtual machine, however according to this article:
https://www.vmware.com/support/ws55/doc/ws_disk_defrag.html
it seems that there should be a defrag option for the virtual disk assigned/created for the virtual machine. I cannot find this defrag option and am wondering if or what might be needed to be able to defrag the actual VMDK or virtual machine files in 5.5? I have checked the VM > Settings > hardware and looked all over but cannot find the defragment option.
All of my hosts have thick provisioned lazy zeroed disks allocated to them.
Thanks
